Starting Back Up

I know I have failed with my blog and not updated it in quite sometime. I know I have some unhappy readers (cough, Leslie Rideout:)) Well, for starters, my camera was at Kelsi Hatheway's house since this past Sunday so I have been unable to take any pictures and therefore, there was nothing to blog about. Last Wednesday, my forever friend, Kendra Shane Able drove back to Martinsville to stay for little over a week before she travels back to stay in Florida for an internship. I have been hanging out with her every second because I won't get to see her for another two months. In the past week, besides hanging out with Kendra, I have played a lot of euchre, not as much as usual, but still enough. I went to the Country Throwdown concert this past Sunday and I got to see soo many awesome artists.

I was most excited for Eric Church because he is like my boyfriend:) He was awesome live as well. I got to meet the Eli Young Band and the drummer asked me what my name was...I was speechless because he was very attractive...haha

AU Friends

I love Anderson!!! This past weekend I drove up on Friday to work the SOAR weekend. It was soo weird being there without all my favorite people. I missed them terribly, but i got the chance to really look at the school and really realize how beautiful it is. I drove around the town of Anderson and I got to see things that I never knew exsisted. It really is a pretty big town because I did get lost. haha. After I worked Friday, I drove to Fishers to stay with Kelsi Hatheway. We played with Zoey and I stayed up til midnight to get my Karen Kingsbury ticket:) I'm so excited to meet her in June. Then I woke up and drove back to Anderson to work for a couple more hours. After that, Alex Morris followed me to Fishers to hang out with Joe Wiard, Leslie Rideout, and Kelsi. Although, on the way to Fishers, we saw a deer get hit and killed, it was one of the most terrible things I have ever witnessed. The poor thing, I freaked out and of course Alex texts me and starts laughing! Once we got to Fishers, we went to pick up Leslie and Joe and drove around and hung out until Kelsi was done babysitting and then we hung out at the Town Center. It was nice to get to hang out with them. While I was at Anderson, I met my new soon to be best friend, Ben. He is great and I know we are going to be great friends:) We are just alike, kinda scary..haha.

Well I have failed and haven't updated my blog since Monday so I guess I will just give you a run down of what I have been doing these past couple of days:) On Tuesday, I went to Bdubs with Emily, Kariann, Daniel, and Phillip and enjoyed some 45 cent wings! We drove around b-town before returning to Kariann's to hang out and of course play some euchre! That game is going to take over our summer that's for sure. I spent the night at Kariann's and we woke up on Wednesday and went to Daniel's house for the day because it was his birthday! He grilled out for us and made the best hamburgers we had ever eaten. We have decided that he is going to have the best parties when we are older because he is such a wonderful griller. We played euchre and then decided to go to B-town once again because Phillip wanted to get his lip pierced. I unfortunately did not take a picture of his lip piercing but I can atest and say that it looked okay on him:) We ate at the mall and then headed back to Daniel's to watch AVATAR which was simply AMAZING! I loved it and I have decided that I would love to be one for Halloween. I spent the night at Emily's and came home this morning. Once I got home, I saw the rental car that my dad had to rent to drive to Detroit for the weekend and it made me laugh...you will just have to see it at the bottom of all the pictures and you will understand, especially if you know my dad, you would know that he would hate to drive it. Ha Ha. Today has been a relaxing day and I have not played euchre yet today, but don't fret because I will be going to Emily's tonight to play:) We can't go more than a day apart or it seems that way lately. Friends, Euchre, and a Picnic:)

Emily and I had this brilliant idea to go on a picnic with some friends because really we are trying to save money. We are calling this summer the fit and frugal summer because we want to save money and also lose weight. This is our plan:

• Put 25 dollars into an envelope each week and that's all you have to spend.
• If you spend less than 25 dollars, the money goes into a blow money envelope.
• Do at least a mile of something daily (i.e. running, biking, swimming, walking).
• Keep a journal and write down our diet.
• Say at least one good thing about yourself daily.

I'm hoping with this, I will become a healthier and happier!! So anyway, Emily, Kariann, Daniel, Tyler, and I went to the forestry by my house with our packed lunches and sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful day. We of course played euchre, which I can already tell we will be playing a lot of that this summer, and we also just played on the teeter totters and swung. It was really relaxing and a great way to start the summer:)

Happy Mother's Day!

For mother's day this year, we went to my sister, Tara's house. Her boyfriend, Craig's, family came as well. We had an awesome lunch consisting of hamburgers, grilled by Craig, party potatoes, corn caserrole, and fruit salad. It was a very yummy meal:) It was a very relaxing day and I got to read a lot of Take Two:) My mom and I ended up going on a walk with George once we got back. I was surprised by Daniel, Kariann, and Emily and played a couple hands of euchre. It was definitely a great way to end my day:)

The Odd Couple

On Friday, I went to my high school's thespian production of "The Odd Couple." I was a Thespian troupe member my junior year and senior year of high school. Thespians is the highest acting group you can be a part of in high school. You have to have been in so many productions in other musicals or plays to even be inducted. Once you have the amount of points needed, you can chose to read a monologue or a poem to be inducted in. Both of my sisters were in Thespians in high school. I was secretary of Thespians my senior year and had to record everything that happened during our meeting. I was in a production called "Greater Tuna" that is originally a two-man show that featured them playing 21 parts together. The play is set in Texas, so we had to bring out the country accents! We broke up the parts equally between the 9 members and each had a couple parts. I was fortunate to play two women. One of my characters was a sweet southern old lady that had a corrupted side as well and owned her own used gun shop. My other character, which was my favorite, was a biopolar woman that always was running around the house yelling at her kids and dogs. I decided that she was really a southern version of my mom, Pam and so it was easy to get into character because I was raised around it my whole life:) This year, my brother was inducted and so I went to go and support him, although he was just on stage crew, and the rest of my friends!

Thursday...

Thursday was not a very exciting day. I woke up around 2:30 in the afternoon, the benefit of being home from college:), and immediately layed outside and read Take One by Karen Kingsbury. I am literally obsessed with everything about Karen Kingsbury! I have read all of her Redemption, Firstborn, and Sunrise Series. The Above the Line series are absolutely wonderful and I cannot wait to finish them! That is what my summer is mostly going to consist of:) Actually, the Redemption series are set in Bloomington, Indiana and she is having her first ever Baxter Family Reunion in Bloomington in June. The Baxter's are the family that the books are about, although they are fiction. I am going to be attending the red carpet event with my mom's two best friends! I am very excited because I think I will most likely be meeting her and that has been a dream of mine for a long time because her books are very inspiring and I find myself relating my life to them. They are very much life changing and I recommend everyone to read them! Now back to my thursday. After reading for a little while, I decided to take a walk with George to my Mamaw and Papaw's. On the walk, I took a picture of our family farm because I thought it was a beautiful day to capture it! Here are a couple pictures from our walk.

It was my friend, Evan's birthday, so Emily and I decided to meet him at an ice cream shop in our town called the Scoop. It is a very popular ice cream shop that families love to go to. We were supposed to meet him there around 8:30, but of course he was a little late and here is the picture that displays our frustration with him.

After all, he ended up coming thirty minutes late and Emily didn't even get to see him because she had to go and tutor. After we ate ice cream, we went out to his house to hang out with some of our friends.

Wylie Coyote

Once I got home, my mom informed me of the coyote that she has named Wylie. I guess Wylie coyote has been lurking across the field from our house and even appeared in our neighbors yard in broad daylight. Sure enough, right when I pulled in, Wylie was outside walking around. My mom of course was nervous and frantically pacing, I was intrigued and wanted to walk out there to see her. We are nervous about George, our sheltie, and his safety. So we are keeping close eye on him everytime he goes outside. My dad and I went on a walk to my Mamaw and Papaw's and when we came back my dad walked out with his rifle and walked into the field looking for Wylie. He did not succeed, but I did end up retrieving a picture:) I will keep you updated on the where-abouts and sightings of Wylie coyote

Today I decided to start a blog because my good friend Naomi suggested it. I was hesitant at first, but then i decided that it would be a wonderful thing to be able to show all my friends I don't see everyday what I'm doing. So here it is...
Today I left the place I have called my home for the past 8 months, Anderson University. I never thought I would be where I am now at the beginning of my freshman year. I learned a great deal about myself over the year at Anderson. I matured immensely and made friends that I was not expecting. I thought going to Anderson I would just make friends that I would have while I was there, but I was wrong and made the best friends I could ever ask for. I love everything about Anderson and I know God placed me there for a certain reason and I'm loving the journey that God is taking me on being there:)
